This is probably the 4th or 5th phone bought for elderly relatives in the last ten years. We have always needed large buttons (for the visually impaired) as well as amplifiers (for the hearing impaired). Most phones have handled one well but not the other. It is one of the best options for the visually and hearing impaired. Picture dialing is also a nice feature, as most stored numbers require either a combination of buttons or a small button labeled with just a number. Here you print out a photo (approx. 1 x 1 1/4 inch), peel off the plastic protective film and place the photo on the key you want to use. Number programming is very simple: press the program button, dial the number, press program again and then press on the photo you want to assign a number to. That's all. The phone itself feels very solid, unlike some of the large button phones we've bought, and the Clarity appears to be made by Plantronics, a well-known supplier of phone headsets and accessories, judging from the box it doesn't require a power supply , but uses a single 9V battery to power a light/amplifier. Easily the best phone of its kind I've ever seen - I really hope it lasts!
