Our neighborhood in Jacksonville, Fla. is getting the most of its residents adorned (YouTube Blackhawk Bluff Christmas Lights). We've been doing this for over 15 years and I would say 98% of the participants were so friendly, polite and appreciative that many of us left the lights on all night using the light sensor timer and dust until dawn setting to have. Over the last few years we've had far too many late parties at 2am and 3am, playing music, throwing rubbish, beer and liquor bottles in the yards, shouting obscenities and being rude, even threatening violence if asked were to turn off the music music. Therefore, many residents have chosen to turn off the lights at 10:00 p.m. on Sundays and at 11:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. These waterproof timers work great and at such a great price. I bought 2 packs and now some of my neighbors do too. Too bad some had to ruin it for everyone else. I miss the parents who told us their kids couldn't sleep so they would drive until they fell asleep, or the elderly who didn't want to deal with the sometimes two-hour traffic and were therefore late. I left the light on for that. The electricity bill for January was high, but it was worth it.😊
