Before buying I read other reviews and knew in advance that this is not a heavy duty tool and the jaw size is small. However, I knew what I needed it for (making walking sticks/canes and I needed to attach it to a public picnic table when using it). I also realized that I would be constantly attaching the jig to the vise while I steam straightened the sticks. The grip strength was perfect but there was very little pressure on him. I also made sure to measure the wood I used for the attachment to make sure it would fit in the vise. I like it (I've been using it for about a month).
