I used them on an old pickup truck and they worked great. The rubber bushings were strong and a little stiff, so putting them in boiling water where the old lights were for a minute or two made them easier to fit into the 3" holes. The diameter of the grommets was the perfect size, and the grommets matched the indentations in the surface around the holes. The outer surface of the grommets was large enough to cover three old style lantern screw holes. The heads of some of these screws were broken, but the back of the grommets were small enough that protruding screws were not a problem. There was a lot of grease/sealant on the socket where the pigtails attach. The pigtail has a double rubber seal on each pin and can be attached in any direction. They can be attached to the light before it is installed in the ferrule, making it easier to properly attach the pigtail. Headlights are securely fixed in the eyelets.
