Have fun playing for cross stitch!

I am trying to use this product for cross stitching which it is not designed for. I originally docked a star because it broke while working with it and it was very difficult to untangle without cutting the thread. I went ahead and gave it a final star because I'm happy with the results in the end. It's a difficult task, but I like the way it looks. For cross stitch I don't recommend pulling the threads apart (the patience required was not reproducible). It worked well on linen as a single thick thread (almost like pearl cotton) and has a beautiful, vibrant color. This will probably work even with one point and a lower Aida score like 10-14. I like to use it over two stitches on linen because linen is softer and has a little more room for thread. It's also popular because of the color and the size (it's more like 4 skeins of embroidery thread). The raised effect is useful for my project and the apple makes it fun when I'm embroidering. Edit: Now that I've worked with it more, it's less prone to breakage. - Unwinding technique (?) - Instead of unwinding the next strand, I carefully unwound it and cut it into one of the sections. I unfolded it and took the strands from the middle, held one end and then pulled on that end and repeated on the other side. (See photos.) The threads are very long and may be too long for some people, both in the arms and in the stitches; I "like" long skeins when working with multicolored yarn for color reasons, but it can definitely be confusing and annoying (like any long yarn, not just this one). It requires a delicate hand, but it upsets me much less; It still lasted about 30 minutes and my hand gestures reminded me of fishmongers, but I wasn't banging myself the whole time. You will end up with a very thick spool, but even a cardboard spool can hold anything.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous
