This material cures to a plastic wood substance that is harder than wood. All you have to do is add water and stir. I didn't find it hardened too quickly like some say. You have more than enough time to add it to any wood you renovate. The only caveat I would like to add is that once cured, it will be quite difficult for you to sand them down. So make sure you do your best to smooth it out before it dries. I am really impressed with this product saving some badly rotted stair rods. For large holes, you can even tape cardboard around the edges of the object, add this product to fill the gap, and then remove the cardboard. I did it and it worked fine in two places. A good thing.
