I bought these suspenders because I have an adjustable bed, I'm single and only sleep on one side so the sheets always pull away from the mattress when the bed is raised and lowered. Not only did my sheets get ripped off, but so did my mattress topper! I bought two sets which were recommended by several reviewers. One kit was used to attach the mattress pad top to bottom and side to side. The other set was used to secure the fitted sheet - again top to bottom and side to side, I've been using them for a week now and neither my sheet nor mattress topper have moved. I'm in paradise! It's a shame I found out about it earlier. They are worth their price. Before that I used a spring-loaded furniture clip to hold the sheet in place - not very pretty! However, I have found that they do NOT work well on new microfiber bows as the teeth in the handles are plastic and the microfiber is flimsy and slips off instantly. 100% cotton and heavier sheets work better. They work great on my thicker mattress topper.
