This duvet is made of comfortable material and has an even weight. I would advise anyone engaged in this to consider that this 25 pound blanket makes changing positions (rolling from one side of the body to the other) much more difficult. Yes it's that heavy and I'm not a little guy (6ft 250lbs). I have a problem (I think it's my fault): this comforter definitely fits a double bed. In the picture they use to advertise this duvet, you can see the bed with the pillows stacked in a certain way, making it look like it's covering a queen-size mattress. That's not the case. This blanket is for one person. The weight of the blanket is so heavy that I would advise you to NEVER let young children or toddlers use it. Educate yourself, choose the right weight and pay attention to age recommendations. My final comment is that it's not very warm. This material is fairly breathable as a sheet and will require an extra sheet or maybe a thin blanket if you want the warmth and pressure of a weighted blanket. I wouldn't wash this in my washing machine as I am very concerned that it is so heavy it might break my washing machine. I would use dry cleaning. Note.
