A gallon of water lasted 3:57 hours and used 2.98 kWh at 750-770 watts. The cost is $0.33 per gallon based on my local electricity costs. I use about 8 ounces of water a day in my CPAP machine. Based on the $1 per gallon cost in store and the price of the burner, it will take about 6 years to recoup the cost. After four cycles, the bad water odor was gone from both the heated bath and the plastic receptacle. The residue appeared on the heated tray only in the first cycle. The condenser tube fan is a bit noisy and generates a lot of heat, so I put it in the garage. However, the convenience outweighs the frustration of going from store to store until I find one that contains distilled water.
