Review on Coralife Super Protein Skimmer with Pump: Advanced Filtration System for Optimal Aquarium Water Quality by Paul Stevens

Just installed today and everything works as advertised. Initially there were no bubbles so I removed the air hose, unscrewed the cap that goes over the propeller and reassembled everything. Something must have been weakened because it helped. It's quite small but has a large area. I got it as a HOB for AOI and it takes up more space than I thought. The bubble diffuser has been moved into the box, which I think gives the impression that it takes up more space. It's luuudddd. The air silencer is not very effective. Taking a 6-8 inch piece of air hose and attaching it to the air muffler reduces the noise significantly but the hum is still there. There is a drain/hose on the cup but it is not very reliable. So you have to be careful when handling the device when there is water in the cup. I knocked the pipe over several times and there was water everywhere. As many other reviews say, the instructions are a bit lighter, but it's not unwieldy. Who reads the instructions, lol. I think it's a newer model with an older manual, there were a few things in the manual that didn't match. It seems that for example the outlet pipe is not the same as described. Such little things. But overall I'm happy with it. For the price it won't be perfect but it looks like it will work fine. It lathers well so I assume it will glide well. I'm happy with that.
