SO. My fancy THX DTS Dolby certified sound card, which was working with my THX certified speakers, failed without warning. Since I plan to build a completely new system in 6 months, I didn't want to invest until I knew what the new hardware would look like. So basically as a spare until the time is right I bought these. I choose this one because it has better hardware and features than most other inexpensive USB sound cards and because I have a history of creative products. Also, it allows me to connect my headphones to my laptop and phone and then to the phone. To be honest: does 2-channel 24bit 96Hz sound as good as my original sound card? no But I didn't expect such a price. Surprisingly for the price it really is very good value for money. Good crisp highs, full mids and deep bass. I personally don't experience any hiss, distortion or mic issues (maybe software updates?). It just plugs in and runs on Windows 10 Pro. But I also agree with other reviews about downloading the software first and setting it up to your liking. And also agree that the software interface could use some upgrades and simplifications. But overall I am very satisfied with this product and especially at this price. Featured!
