Rocks Too Much

After trying the carrycot and bunk bed play area that my baby hates I decided he needed something with an actual mattress which is sold separately. I was really excited about this particular mini crib because of the rocking feature. My baby usually wakes up the second we put him to bed so I thought the rocking function would be a big help. And I was right; However, the crib rocks too much. When my son lifts his legs in the air the crib swings out so far that he rolls onto his side and I'm afraid that if I wasn't watching him he might roll right into the side rails. I put in one of the stops to keep the crib from rocking as much and it looks like the problem is solved, but I think other parents should be aware of the potential hazard. This cot comes with wheels, but if you want to use the rocking function you cannot use the wheels. I would give it another star if they could come up with a design that lets you do both. The included pad is terrible (noisy and uncomfortable) but I never intended to use it. I purchased the DaVinci Crescent Mini Crib 50 Coil Mattress which my son loves way more than any other bassinet/co-sleeping pillow we've tried. The cot comes with warning labels on the outside head and foot rails. They are extremely annoying to remove as they break into tiny pieces and leave a sticky mark all over the wood that can't seem to be removed without the use of a chemical that I don't want to use around my child. This bed is short. The top of my mattress is 31 inches off the floor and with a 5 inch mattress it is still about 3-4 inches below my mattress making it difficult for me to lay down while stroking my baby or holding his hand , To help. he goes/stays asleep I also have to get up to pick him up or put him in this cot because of the height difference. It's not the prettiest mini crib, but the design makes it great to use next to my bed, while other styles fit the wall better. It was easy to assemble and the color of the espresso is much richer than shown online. I would buy it again because it's the best option I could find for my child to sleep comfortably next to me but not in my bed.
