I used this aerator to connect to a US standard faucet with a hose thread on the end of the spout (for a garage sink). It easily screws on and off so I can use the faucet to quickly fill buckets or wash my hands (whatever I'm doing). The water consumption with an aerator is significantly higher than with a conventional faucet with a built-in aerator. However, I prefer this aerator for my garage as I need a large volume of water for most applications. I can even fill a bucket with water pretty quickly, whereas the faucets in my house take forever. The aerator reduces flow a bit, but mostly I want it to prevent a lot of splashing.
