A must-have safety tool in the backcountry with no trails
I'm an off-road traveler from Alaska and I'm writing this review with the hope that one day I can help someone escape. I've worn four pairs of these. This is a safety tool that can be used off-piste in steep, pathless terrain. They are suitable for use when packing heavy loads. The fact that they are not full crampons is a great advantage as they can always be worn on mixed terrain even when crampons are not needed. If you care about a backcountry traveler, buy one as a gift. They will add a huge safety tool to their kit.
