Bad design for electrical devices

I tried to use the anchor bolts that came with the kit. The distance between the face of the anchor and the part where the anchor bolt expands appears to be almost 2 inches. Drywall in the US is 5/8 inch. This means if you pull the screw that secures the product to the wall, it will move 1 inch away from the wall. The instructions that came with the product are terrible. They make Ikea instructions complete and detailed.
