Review on ☕️ Zojirushi SM-JTE46AD Stainless Steel Travel Mug with Tea Leaf Filter, 16-Ounce, Deep Blue: Enjoy Fresh Tea on the Go! by Austin Olson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Unique in function but inexplicably fragile workmanship

If all you need is a thermos or vacuum mug, there are millions of them. This bottle is an insulated portable kettle as it has a strainer that fits into the neck and ensures the tea leaves stay in and out of your cup. If there is something else that can do this, I haven't found it. Some people will want to plan their tea carefully. And the length of their commute is probably not the time they are looking for. This bottle won't be of much use to them. But if you want something very well insulated and very portable where you can brew your tea and filter the leaves as you pour (the filter is very good but not quite perfect), I don't know of anything else. The bottle cannot be washed in the dishwasher. Even soaking in OxiClean (which is similar to dishwashing liquid but not the same) will dull the finish and eventually cause it to peel off. (As you can imagine, I learned this the hard way.) I don't know why Zojirushi uses a coating that is so easily damaged by chemicals. But they are, and I love the insulated teapot aspect so much that I bought another one and just need to find another way to clean it.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
