First the positives: I've only had it a day, but for normal "home office" purposes it seems pretty good. It's bright (I had to turn down the contrast and brightness a bit for comfort), and the text is crisp and easy to read. The color seems good enough to me right away, which is good since I can't immediately see how to fine-tune the colors in "Standard" mode. In skin tones there can be a little more green than I would like. I also really like that this monitor has both HDMI and DVI inputs. It was one of the few monitors I could find in this price range that still had the DVI connection I needed with my old graphics card. than I expected, especially when my eye level is closer to the top of the screen (or higher). Raising the monitor so that my eye level is closer to the bottom of the screen improves the contrast and black level significantly, but then I'm looking at it from the bottom up. And the stand has no built-in height adjustment. When my eyes/head align with the left side of the screen, the black levels on the right side are washed out. So it seems to me that despite the fact that it's IPS, this monitor is still pretty sensitive to viewing angles/position. Not so much with the disappearance of bright colors as with the increase in black levels to a dull gray. The control buttons are small and unlabeled (and are located on the underside of the front panel). It's easy to make mistakes when trying to make adjustments or work with menus. (It's weird that manufacturers don't label labels or controls; functionality should always come before style.) But for a nearly 24-inch screen at this price point, I might be asking too much. It doesn't seem that long ago that a 17-19" CRT monitor was considered a 'big' monitor and typically cost $300 or more.
