Review on πŸ“· Pyle PLCM24IR Universal Rear View Camera - Waterproof, Marine Grade with Distance Scale Lines and 420 TVL Resolution by David Ramirez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not a bad camera for the money but be warned.

I ordered this camera for a multi camera system under construction and needed wide angle lenses. This is advertised as a 170 degree lens. and that. but there are TWO measurements for lenses. side to side and corner to corner. It's 135 degrees side-to-side and 170 corner-to-corner. When choosing cameras, pay attention to the differences. I am very happy with the camera angle, daylight image accuracy and sharpness. There is an (expected) aspherical distortion due to the angle of the lens. That's fine because I want the widest possible field of view for good image quality. The camera is small and thin. Actually, this part is very important. The camera has built-in guides. I didn't have a chance to test this, but a quick check I did didn't seem very accurate (my hand moved a foot or two from 3 meters to 0.5 meters). it's better to work with the installation and some practice, or maybe I didn't read the manuals properly. Camera performance in low light really suffers, and the complete inability to illuminate the camera with IR can kill this deal for me. I'm still working to resolve the issue with the seller. I will update when I decide.
