Great reversing camera!

I bought this for fear that a child would run after my car or leave a toy or something in the driveway when I backed out of the garage. For a $20 investment, it's great to be safe! It connects directly to the LCD main unit and automatically switches to the camera when reversing. The wiring harness that came with it was long enough for my Evo, it was easy to fit right over the license plate, and it's small enough to be invisible to most people. One of the reasons I chose this unit over othersโ€ฆ

So far so good for car safety

I've used IR cameras with IR LEDs around the lens in the past; and they had various problems. The main problem is that they stop working in less than 2 years. I use them for the "video mirror" system and they are on all the time. These cameras are quite small and have a very wide-angle lens - too wide for my purposes. They work at night, but get a little blurry in very dark conditions. They do fairly well in very bright direct sunlight, but do wash out a bit. My biggest problem is theโ€ฆ

Excellent miniature camera suitable for car security

The product image advertised does not tell you how tiny this device is. I was expecting something the size of a coke bottle cap and it was so small I could lose it and never find it. PROS: Image quality is exceptional, almost as good as the video I capture with my 6MP. Canon C3. The viewing angle is pretty close to what is advertised. This was purchased for my truck and I have extra reversing lights on the hitch (where this camera fits) and there is ample lighting for the camera. CONS: Itโ€ฆ

Not a bad camera for the money but be warned.

I ordered this camera for a multi camera system under construction and needed wide angle lenses. This is advertised as a 170 degree lens. and that. but there are TWO measurements for lenses. side to side and corner to corner. It's 135 degrees side-to-side and 170 corner-to-corner. When choosing cameras, pay attention to the differences. I am very happy with the camera angle, daylight image accuracy and sharpness. There is an (expected) aspherical distortion due to the angle of the lens. That'sโ€ฆ

works fine for a while

I connected 2 of these to the same monitor. One on the back of my truck (where I can see the hitch, which is great) and one on the back of my trailer. I've wired both of them to get power whenever the engine is running so I can use them both for reversing and for monitoring while driving, much like a rear view mirror. A trailer-mounted camera is very convenient for overtaking and overtaking on the highway. Video quality is pretty good and light sensitivity is good (there's enough backlightingโ€ฆ

Poor durability for Car Safety & Security

Purchased in July 2011. The first was DOA. Revan immediately replaced him. The camera was out of order in mid-October. I order a replacement from Revain with the intention of having Pyle replace the faulty camera so I have a spare camera on hand. The new camera failed in November 2011 and Revain replaced that as well. The replacement failed in January 2012. Pyle never responded to email support requests. Their website says to email pyle dot com support, which I did twice with no response. I can
