Review on Sceptre C325B 185RD: Curved Screen with DisplayPort, FreeSync, Blue Light Filter, and Built-In Speakers by Kevin Mariappan

I had a very bad experience

So the monitor wasn't bad, it was a big size and the price was decent enough. I would say it was very bright and hurts the eyes even on low settings. What I really wanted to comment on was that this started appearing after about 5 months of playing something. Now I'm a sane person and I know it was most likely a defect so it doesn't matter. I contacted Scepter customer service and they said to send it back to them. So I did as requested and they got it. We went back and forth as they couldn't reproduce the issue, although I clearly had a problem, but whatever I know of how these things work, I'd try again. When they sent this back I had already bought the monitor so I didn't hold my breath until it arrived. Well, you know, it never arrived despite FedEx claiming it did. Now, a month later, I finally caught up on my email and applied to FedEx. Scepter will wash its hands of this situation, as will FedEx, most likely because it took me a while to realize it never arrived. Responsible for the long wait. I want to say that given the hassle involved and the amount of time I would go without a monitor, I highly recommend that you get an INS for this article. I don't have much experience with this product and I encourage you to spend a little more money and buy something better. I think I may have had the worst experience, but it didn't work for me. Luckily I have the resources to just go out and buy a new monitor, but many people don't. Cost savings can put you in a very bad situation, like mine. Now I have to jump 20 hoops on FedEx and they will deny I know about it. The reason I'm not even upset is that Scepter couldn't reproduce the problem and just sent it back, so technically it was still defective. Enjoy shopping. I learned a valuable lesson about how to get what you pay for. PS I understand that this was most likely one of those rare cases, but if you are a kid you don't need this hassle and waste of time, just save a little more and get something tried and true.

Pros
  • curved screen
Cons
  • Monitor contrast is too low.
