I was too lazy to fix this fridge and didn't even look at the fridge model I have (damn how did I get so lazy?!?). Instead, I pulled out the factory sensor, just measured the length of the wires and found they matched. I took an ohmmeter to the factory sensor and compared its readings to a temperature vs. resistance chart found on the internet. I have found that my old sensor works (not shorting or opening) but falls out of tolerance in the direction that freezes everything. This sensor solved the problem easily and for very little money. This is one of those repairs that anyone can do. Everything is bare, nothing is under high tension, nothing is held by anything but tension. You may need pliers (I have) to remove the old sensor, and note that you need to hold on to the clip holding it in place. The new sensor is the same shape/size and fits my old clamp perfectly.
