Review on πŸ“ Wixey WR365 Multi-functional Digital Angle Gauge with Level and Convenient Flip-Up Display by Mark Callaham

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I wish I had bought this years ago!

Have you ever been let down by bevel cuts on your table saw? Ever wondered how to properly level a table on a drill press? Having trouble checking the angle to a square? Stop swearing! This model is the "better" of the two Wixey angle sensors and I was wondering why there were only a few features left in the end. Nothing to regret! Anyhow, this device is very easy to use and one feature I really like is how you can place it on a flat surface and quickly calibrate/zero it to consider that surface "flat". You can then measure angles RELATIVE TO THAT SURFACE, ie not relative to the "true" level. That means if your table isn't exactly level, you can still measure angles relative to the (hopefully) flat surface of your table. The device has a strong magnet and a good groove so it can cover drills, pipes, etc. I nearly went insane trying to test my drill for squareness before having this baby. The specs say it's accurate and repeatable to within 0.1 degrees, and my experience says it's true. If you're serious about woodworking, you know you need that level of precision.

Pros
  • Happy for the moment
Cons
  • Some shortcomings
