When I first got this I thought it was a problem because I had it plugged into my backup power and it wasn't charging. It turned out that there were two problems; the power supply battery was completely discharged and the solar panel was not in a sunny location. I took the panel to a very sunny place (more than 8 hours a day) and it fully charged the battery. Now it works to keep it fully charged all the time, even if it's not a very sunny day it still charges quite well. The panel is lightweight and comes with some adapters to connect to various accessories. I had to buy another adapter because my DC input was even smaller than the adapter that came with it. It cost me $6 (for two) and works great. First check the DC input to determine if the solar panel is ready to connect or if an adapter is required.
