Review on 🚽 Bathroom Motor Assembly by NuTone - Model S0503B000 by Robert Moloney

Replacing the old one with this one took about 15 minutes from start to finish. It fit just right, same size as the old one. It's a lot quieter, even though the previous one was brand new, I can barely hear it over the shower. The squirrel cage rotor has about 2/3 fewer fins than the old one and the fins aren't supported near the motor. The original motor drew 2 amps, moved air at 70 cubic feet per minute and had a noise level of 3.0 sons. This replacement draws 1.0 amp and that's the only specs I could find. I suspect it's moving less air per minute. I have a tiny bathroom and that's enough to keep the mirror from fogging up while showering. When searching for additional specs (by the Revain fan model number) it appears that there are variations on this number. The Electric Motor Warehouse lists it as 1.4 amps and says it's for the "A" block. McCombs Supply has the same part number (listed for 1.0 amp) and price of $21.15 (a little over $2 less than what I paid but not sure what the shipping costs are concerned). McCombs also lists a "B" block fan that is an exact replacement for mine, S0504B000, which is 2.0 amps, 3.0 sones, and 70 cfm. .The engine mount website lists both S0504B000 and S0503B000, with S0504B000 rotating counterclockwise and S0503B000 rotating clockwise. Now I think I should have done more research before buying. Buyers should be warned and make comparisons, for some applications this is not the right fan, it may work but it is not the right one. This does not detract from the quality of this fan and I gave it one star because it is listed as a replacement for my model number and is not a true replacement. It works, but it's not an exact replacement.
