Worked great in my 8 year old unit

Looking at other reviews I was a little doubtful that this would work in my fan unit. There were some minor differences in measurements, e.g. B. People said the unit was 9 inches by 9 inches. Well, it's not exactly 9 inches either way. These are approximate measurements only. The picture shows the box in my ceiling with the original device removed and shows the model numbers. I thought it might help others who, like me, were unsure.

I like that they haven't changed anything.

My old fan which was probably the original (20 years old) finally died. I searched and found this as a replacement. It fits perfectly. The wiring was the same, the dimensions were the same, and replacement was simply a matter of disconnecting the old one, loosening a screw, and putting a new one in its place. Attached is a photo of the old one. If your fan is the same as mine then this one works great! The biggest problem was putting the bulb back in (damn LEDs are bigger) but it fit and…

It's good they're still making this

We have two of these in our bathrooms. They don't last forever, but are easy to replace. I had a freeze after 6 years and ordered a replacement. I then tried applying turbine oil to the motor shaft to get around this and it works again. The other squeaked once, but everything is fine now. So I don't need a replacement now, at least not yet. However, I'm tempted to keep them in case they're not available when the fans die. Revain made ordering easy as I just looked at my order history. It's hard

5 minute electrical repair

5 minute fixing... nut in center 5 .) Disconnect light unit and lower to side 6.) Disconnect fan, remember which one was 7 .) At the dual connector, on one side of the fan, unscrew the screw you find next (I have a hex-shape crosshead) 8.) The fan assembly buckles and falls down the hole in the connector...install first) 10 .) Replace screw 11.) Insert fan, insert light assembly 12.) Replace wing nut 13.) Reinstall bulb 14. ) Replace cover 15.) Turn on switch, check light and fan. After turning

Easy installation! in Fan Motors

I was afraid to replace my bathroom fan because I figured I'd have to go to the attic, rip out the old one, install a new one, etc. Wrong! They know you need to replace the fan, so they super chop it up with these things. This is a ten minute install. In theory. It turns out that Nutone has undergone quite a few changes over the years. They matched my two bathroom fans almost perfectly. The only problem was that the rectangular holes didn't line up exactly with the sockets. Interestingly, each…

Replacement for Nutone fan/light in bathroom

I have a Nutone fan/light above the shower. It was installed when the house was built in 1976. After so many years the fan started making a very loud noise and not the usual hum. Nutone no longer makes the same fan/light model to replace the old one. The one they make is slightly larger and would require me to rip the ceiling off a bit to install a larger Nutone fan/lamp. I ordered this Nutone bathroom fan to replace the one in my bathroom. I removed the old motor and traced its housing to the…

The perfect replacement!

When my bathroom fan was making an incredibly loud noise when starting up (and the fact that I couldn't just turn on the light since it's a combination light and fan on the same switch), had to I choose to fix it or take a candlelight shower. First off, let me say that I'm NOT that handy - I'm pretty good at setting up shelves (I can make things fairly level and the shelves rarely break down later), but I'm shy with electrical components. I tried cleaning the thing first - I unplugged the…

Quick install and quiet operation

Replacing the old one with this one took about 15 minutes from start to finish. It fit just right, same size as the old one. It's a lot quieter, even though the previous one was brand new, I can barely hear it over the shower. The squirrel cage rotor has about 2/3 fewer fins than the old one and the fins aren't supported near the motor. The original motor drew 2 amps, moved air at 70 cubic feet per minute and had a noise level of 3.0 sons. This replacement draws 1.0 amp and that's the only…
