It's been one full week and so far I LOVE these. Two strands fully covered a 7' christmas tree. The timers and various blinking options are great. Each strand is powered by three D batteries. I totally expected to have to change the batteries frequently, but no. I put some 4 yrs old batteries (seriously, they were old) and they have been going 7 days now and barely looking weak. I even had them on most of the weekend. I even took a third strand and created a long garland like in the hallmark movies. It's so nice not worrying about plug in lights getting hot and burning the tree. These are awesome. I did NOT receive these free or at discount for a review, I just seriously enjoy these.UPDATE: Week 3 and I have some concerns. Some of the lights seemed to have dimmed. Brand new batteries and many lights are bright, but some have a few have dark spots. For $13 per strand and $26 per tree I can't complain much. Wish I knew why they were failing. But I would probably buy another set of these anyways because I like the way their blinking patterns alternate and my fear of the tree burning down is completely eliminated.
