I knew the size before I bought them but my goodness in person they seem a lot smaller. But maybe it's because I'm used to painting on a much larger scale, on a much larger easel. However, I bought them for my young children. This will be great for them, but they are limited by canvas size and cannot use their large canvases on these tiny easels. We will do because of the price, I think it's worth it. When they are a bit older I will switch to larger easels. As for the packaging, I was a bit disappointed that in the plastic wrap two of the easels were crooked and the main support was offset to one side as shown in my photos. I was able to straighten them when I took them out of the plastic wrap.
