Thanks to other feedback I was able to properly replace it with a 2000 SS. I ended up buying a coffee grinder from Walmart for $30, but I really did it. Before putting the stops back in place I painted the brushed metal as suggested by others. Very easy with the right tools and absolutely no tapping. The hardest part was one of the wheel locks was tightened to over 150 ft/lbs but the discount tire removed it in just 5 minutes. I don't think they can be replaced in the future if needed. The old ones were over 17 years old.
