Review on πŸ”Œ MFi Certified Belkin Lightning USB Cable by Michael Cleveland

Revainrating 1 out of 5

This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone.

I received this message using this brand new cable on a brand new (for several hours) iPhone 5s. Very disappointing. I had six Belkin Lightning cables and all but one failed at least a third of the time. Or they fail without even giving an error message or any other indication that I connected the cable. This has been the case for six months, in about three iOS updates. Lightning cables are reversible, but I've found that when I plug them in and they don't work, they often flip them over to work. Sometimes it also increases the likelihood of licking it clean. But overall, I've paid enough for it to assume it's licensed by Apple, so shouldn't be that unreliable. Lesson learned. Next year I will only buy Apple branded Lightning cables.
