This thing was very cheap, easy to open and folds down to a VERY compact size that fits in my door card pocket and goes very well with my windshield with minimal clearance. The surface isn't exactly flat when open, but rather concave, which I think might be an intentional design to compensate for the rearview mirror getting in the way. He needs visors to keep him in place, without them he won't get up. My only complaint is that right out of the bag it had an awful smell, like a dead fish! I suggest you do what I did, open it up and gently sand the surface of the Febreze fabric front and back and let it dry for a long time. Now the car smells nice every time I stick it on my windshield.
