Review on 🔧 Digital Multimeter FLUKE-101 by Wayne Ohlrogge

I have owned a Fluke 79 for over 20 years and often use high end Fluke test tools in my work. I wanted to get a second meter to keep handy in the garage. 101 seemed like a good choice. I am happy with my purchase. The counter is small, the display is easy to read, it does basic tasks well and feels well made. I considered the more expensive 107. Based on my experience with the 101, I would not recommend it. If you want more features, spend a little more and get one of the more expensive gauges instead. A few notes on the 101, based on feedback from other reviewers and my experience with other Fluke test tools: * The 101 does not have a range selection option. manually.* The 101's "Hold" function simply locks the display when a key is pressed. I don't think it makes sense to hold 101 manually. Higher-end Fluke test tools have an "Auto-Lock" feature that locks in stable readings, which is much more useful.* The test leads aren't anything special, but they're okay. They're not silicone, so they're not as flexible as the higher quality wires.* The test lead sockets on my meter feel solid. Others mention that they are free. It was a lot harder to fully insert the wires into my 101 than other gauges I've used. I could see where it would be possible to leave the wires whole and they would be attached but not secured. * Higher level soft comb gauges are usually made of gray plastic with a yellow rubber rim. Similar to the 101st style, but the yellow is plastic, not rubber.
