On January 16th I wrote a review about a new laptop I bought for my sister. And I gave it a star because Windows couldn't be activated and the error message was that Windows couldn't be updated and the product key may need to be loaded into the system. Windows comes with any mention of a product key identified with this laptop. Apparently Windows 10 now comes with S mode enabled to protect against downloading non-Microsoft apps, which can be fine but causes a problem when trying to activate Windows and access the latest updates on the update laptop. There's a nice warning that it's best to leave S mode on. After some waiting with Microsoft West Africa support specialist "Linda” we found out that you need to disable S mode during the activation step to allow laptop updates and complete the activation setup. There are 6 new versions. After downloading all updated versions of Windows (from version 1903 to version 1909) and after 2 hours everything was ready. "Congratulations, you have successfully activated Windows on your computer. My suggestion when selling products bundled with Windows 10 S mode is to put something in the box about the windows activation process and for those like me who ordered this and found absolutely no technical set up instructions there, to discuss disabling the S mode setting Thank you Microsoft. Dell, you need a better boot experience for your computers. Apart from this flaw the product is excellent and I have changed my rating of the product to 5 stars. .
