I do video recording and photography all the time, but it can be used for both video and photo as the light is nice and bright but very white. The LED panel can be used as is with a flexible light source so you can technically use it as a hairline light and even as a main light if you want to mount it on a stand at full brightness as it comes with a 25% spread , and the light can be further diffused with either the reflector that comes with the diffuser plate or whatever material you choose to use so the light isn't too bright. The frame is made of aluminum and you only need to attach clamps to mount the frame from all four sides. It has a 1/4"-20 mount so it can be used on a stand or tripod. LED can be very handy for this use at 100% it's almost too bright especially for indoor video use but also bright enough to use for photography where most video lights tend to be underbright Product photos 😃👍
