SHOULD GRIND FIRST! Paint for indoor and outdoor work

As mentioned before, if you want to get a good result you MUST be well prepared. This is not an 8 hour project. I'm not sure who could complete an entire kitchen in 8 hours when it took me 2 days to make 2 vanity tables. Anyway, the instructions say to "sand lightly" with 300 grit sandpaper. I did, and as I began to paint I was horrified to see the black paint repel my gray vanity. It was like oil and water. After a lot of swearing I regrouped everything and sanded again with 120 grit, wiped off all the dust and wiped again with a damp cloth. I didn't take any chances, so I primed the cabinets with Stix Primer. Not sure I really need it, but this primer sticks to everything! When I finally got back to painting, the paint went on smoothly and I had no more problems. The color is VERY opaque. I ended up applying 2 thin coats to get the smoothest possible coverage. The paint dries very gently, almost like an airbrush! I removed the doors and drawer fronts to paint them but I think the paint is thick enough that it wouldn't be necessary if you didn't want to. Overall I would recommend this product. Just make sure you sand very well and if all else fails use a melamine primer! Edit to add: I noticed a few scuffs on the paint after installing the vanities. The packaging says the curing time is 2 weeks and I was pretty rough with them 4 days later during installation so I'm not surprised. I have a lot of paint to color them so I'm not worried. Everything else looks beautiful!
