I was looking for an external USB GPS navigator that would work with the Maps app for Windows 10 (with offline maps) as well as other apps that use the serial port. This device is perfect for this purpose and u-blox provides drivers for both the Windows 10 Location Sensor API and the COM port. If you install both drivers, the Windows Sensor Device Driver and the VCP (Virtual COM Port) driver from the u-blox website, you can use it for Windows 10 Maps (and other applications that rely on the Windows 10 Location API ) use simultaneously, as well as applications that use the COM port to receive GPS data (Google Earth Pro and others). U-blox also offers the U-Center software that allows you to configure many settings for this GPS receiver (it's quite advanced and allows you to configure almost everything for this receiver). The location accuracy is very good. It works both indoors and in the car through the roof and windows. At $23 I think it's a steal. I have not yet been able to determine a few things about this device such as: 1. The exact U-blox chip used in this device2. Is the firmware of this device upgradeable (or is it a ROM chip with firmware and it will not be possible to upgrade the firmware in the future)3. Does this device have flash memory or battery backup configuration memory (to keep changed settings for some time). If anyone knows the answers to these questions, please post an answer.
