Works well + battery included!

The guide was a bit blunt, wordy and definitely not written for someone who doesn't read the guide (my brother!). But I read them and quickly showed him how to lean the whole device against the wall. (He pointed it at the wall.) It worked great, he was able to install the rail securely in the post and was so pleased with it that he agreed to help with other nail finding jobs. For our household only. uses AA and AAA batteries so I was happy to find this with the included D battery.

Pros

Easy-to-Read LCD Display and Audible Warnings - Large, backlit LCD display shows detection modes, centering, low battery indicator, and AC cord warning. The signal bar shows the age and the center of the peak, while the intensity of the beep indicates if you are approaching the target.
