On the contrary: This will fit your 2001 BMW 740iL. This sensor will definitely NOT fit my 2001 BMW 740iL. The sensor itself is too big to even fit in the sensor hole. Update: Using a strip of sandpaper to gradually shave/sand the perimeter of the sensor until it fits seems to work. Bye. Update before update: complete bullshit.
