Apparently these brake controllers have a problem with a short circuit in the controller, there is a tip on the trailer itself to troubleshoot if the blue wire is always hot. Well the blue wire only needs to be hot when you apply the brake, the brake signal wire goes to the red wire and the controller outputs go to the blue wire so the blue wire isn't hot all the time. It just locked your brakes on your trailer all the time, very helpful. Well this one never connected until yesterday because I was delayed by about a year with my trailer purchase. Apparently, according to the trailer, Kurt often has this problem in the facility. When I bought this controller I didn't want and don't want a super fancy controller so I figured the simpler the better but I was wrong. It sucks now because it's a road in my truck that's been unplugged for a year that I can't get it back.
