Review on Dometic Duo Therm RV Air Conditioner Shroud: Revamp your Old Style with ICON Brisk Air by Don Merritt

Not bad. Fits and does the job

Purchased for our 1990 Duo Therm Briskair jacket is primarily molded plastic/soft flex. Feel surprised to see no China label but Canada which offers some comfort it fits snugly on the sides and front At the end the back of the shroud is curved as others here mention the shroud is a bit short in height was. The AC frame build was slightly taller so the shroud didn't sit evenly around the base. Press down on the top of the sheathing while I fiddled with it and secured it. While on the outside steps I made a quick decision to drill new screw holes as the original ones didn't seem to align quickly before I put on the shroud. on the roof i noticed a long metal channel/plate that was attached to the base of the front of the ac frame so i removed it as it looked like installing the cover on the underside of the base could be an obstacle , 2 screw holes of the old housing are attached (in the middle / not in front) the handles are like new). I also accepted someone's suggestion here to glue the window grille to the inside of the trim to keep bees/wasps etc out. I used a hot glue gun before installing it on the roof. In general the air conditioning is now safely covered, after a recent storm the old one was torn down, I hope it lasts a long time.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Very expensive
