I do flex and warp tutorials online and needed better lighting for my live streams so I kept an eye on some ring lights and LEDs like this one. I finally settled on these as they had great reviews, looked big enough to light me up from across the room (compared to cheaper, smaller models that should have been closer), and they cost SO$200 only for this use case. . If I'm teaching in front of a window during the day, they prevent me from getting completely washed out, and in the evening I can turn them on and adjust the heat/cold to make it look "natural" and not like my room's horrible default lighting. I also really enjoyed playing with the color settings for the photos (mainly to bring the light closer to my body). They're very easy to set up with the phone app (download the Weeylite app, it's a lot easier to use than the fancy remote that comes with it, and it's free!). I was able to get some really cool shots with absolutely ZERO experience/knowledge of how flashes are supposed to work (note: don't look at them directly, they're REALLY bright and I don't think it's good for your eyes). I suppose someone with real photography experience who understands "best practices" in lighting theory could really enjoy this. And the customer support is fantastic. When I installed the lights on the day they arrived, one of the LEDs was not working (although the rear digital panel was on, there was no light on the front). I contacted their support team through Revain and Laisy did everything she could to help me troubleshoot (unfortunately to no avail) and ended up sending me a new flashlight. It took about 2 weeks to ship from the warehouse but to be honest it was such great customer service that I couldn't get excited. Conclusion: I also recommend it to amateurs who are not familiar with lighting. I feel totally like a pro!
