The ink spreads well and you can use it for a long time before it streaks. If you like calligraphy this is great for you. It also works great with water or alcohol based mediums if you are an artist looking for a good contouring tool. I use them for everything including art and stationery. However, if you're writing quickly in italics, the brush tip will sometimes feather and thicken in most places if you're not careful with the pressure. But I think it's a lack of experience problem.
