I suspect this would make a good seal in the right circumstances, especially with a low toilet flush flange or at floor level. It's also said to be good for a flange above ground level, and that may be true to a limited extent. My case is a floor level flange, and while the gasket seemed to fit the flange fairly snugly, the rubber gasket, about 1/4 inch thick, raised my flange high enough that the outside edges of my standard US toilet (Champion?) wouldn't flatten sitting on the ceramic tile floor.I thought of folding the outside edges of the toilet a bit but didn't really like the idea and as I had ordered a standard wax seal as a backup I switched Problem solved---the wax seal left the toilet just stand on the ground and the job was done.
