Review on Optoma CinemaX Projector Superior 6 Segment by Shawn Quick

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Outstanding picture quality and customer service

Got it Last year after a lot of research and focus I had one Idea of the advantages and disadvantages and limitations. Adjusting the image on the screen was a challenge, requiring the purchase of furniture that was only 12 inches from the surface. on the ground. The angled grip grid is your fine-tuning friend. The picture quality is very good, the brightness and black levels are really good (I have a Samsung HDTV and this projector beats it on black levels, not quite on the black level of an OLED TV, but still very good). The UI and app support are clunky but manageable. I use Roku for streaming so all my remote usage is on Roku, I just use the remote to turn it on. If you're not getting 4K quality, check your connection speed (if it's not fast enough, you can't even select HDR modes - they're grayed out). I use the browser in the application area to check the download speed. The sound quality of the built-in speakers is also very good. You missed some design cues - the legend/icons above the LEDs on the device are undecipherable. But after all that, it really delivered great picture and sound quality for an immersive experience. Then I downloaded the firmware update and it said update applied and gone - I had no idea what was going on other than one of the leds was red. . Left it overnight and tried restarting next morning and it didn't restart. Called support and got a bin file (with the same update) which I copied to a flash drive and plugged into the projector. It still didn't work, the LEDs would flash and blink then turn solid red. I sent it to them, they said that the motherboard analog does not work. So now I'm getting a new projector. Kevin Mackie was excellent polite and professional in handling my request from start to finish. I can't say enough good things about him. I will update this review once I get a new one and can enjoy it a little longer. to buy. The image is amazing on my dark walls no/very bad natural light. I also bought a custom case
