This is the second one I have bought for my 2003 Avalanche and I will be buying a third when I break your mirror again There's a learning curve and common sense to getting them easy to install and get virtually no distortion. Both mirrors I bought, the left driver's side, were without distortion. There was a slight distortion after I installed the first one, but still very useful. Why is that happend? When I got to the point where I could "click/push" the new mirror, I carefully used my whole hand to evenly apply pressure across the entire mirror. This is NOT the way to go as more than half of the back of the mirror is unsupported and you can bend it a bit to introduce distortion. Before you put on a new one, you need to look at the back. Mirror precisely at the contact points where the mirror snaps into place. Do not apply pressure beyond these points when installing. On my Avalanche, the area is about the diameter of a can, and the four pins are top/bottom and left/right only. Just swing the mirror up and down with your thumb and forefinger first. Only press the contact points until you hear or feel them click into place. Do the same on the right and left and you're done. New mirror, cheaper and no distortion. My second mirror has no distortion even after installation.
