The price is right, it fits, it works

I do all the work on the car myself - engine, body, etc. If something needs to be replaced I look and see what I can find. I prefer OEM but sometimes OEM prices are unreasonably high. Like these actuators: There seems to be an issue with Toyota and the driver's door actuator. My 2009 Camry and 2015 4Runner suffer from the same drivetrain issue. OEM costs over $260 (was over $400 a few years ago). I figured since I'm doing the work myself it's mostly a time investment trying the aftermarket. Which brings me to this part. The price was good enough to entice me to buy it. Delivered very quickly, inside the box was wrapped in bubble wrap. My first step was to hook it up to the wiring harness and make sure it worked, which it did. It correctly engaged both the lock motor and the unlock, sending the correct signal to lock and unlock all the doors (a faulty drive could mean this doesn't always work). Replacing the block is pretty easy and it fits just right. There was no noticeable difference compared to the OEM part. It installed for about a week with no problems. Works every time with no problems. Considering I've saved over $200 this seems to be a hit so far. I will update this review if anything changes in a year or two. Nov 2018
