Small price for safety

Advantages:1. Good Hard Plastic 2. Bright Orange. Easily found in the pile of sawdust, wood scraps and other tools lying around your bench3. Smooth and comfortable to hold. Cons: 1. Nobody. except the price is a little high.2. It would be nice if it came with a storage bag or something. Summary: I know you find it ridiculous to spend $20 on 5 pieces of injection molded plastic. i know what i did But god forbid you have a table saw injury, you pay 10x to 100x the hospital bill to sew your finger or arm together, so $20 doesn't seem that bad. A small price to pay to avoid a possible future where you're sitting in the ER with bloody hands. Of course, you have to discipline yourself to use them every time you start the saw, as well as safety goggles, but that's another topic entirely. On the plus side, the plastic is of good quality: thick and strong. They don't warp or bend when I apply pressure and I'm sure these tools will protect my fingers and hand. They're a good size since my fingers are far from the blade, but short enough that I feel I have good control of the wood as it goes through the saw. They are also well designed with smooth outlines. Comfortable to hold, no odd bulges or bulges that put targeted pressure on any part of your hand, and will not cause severe hand fatigue with repeated use. The bright orange color also makes them easy to find. I wish it came with a box or something to put it in, but it's no deal breaker. I just made a little box out of leftover plywood to keep next to my table saw.

Pros
  • Prevents kickback and protects hands and fingers from sharp cutting blades
Cons
  • Small parts
