I bought a large size for my Tahoe Specialized Women's 41 mountain bike style cycling shoe after reading reviews of how they fit the small size (size chart says I should be average - maybe if they were street shoes). My shoes are bulky, designed for comfort when I need to walk in them, and probably have more surface area than thinner constructions or larger road shoes. Rather than focusing on shoe fit based on foot size, I would suggest using shoe circumference as a better guide. The circumference of my shoes is 25 1/2 inches (65 cm) from toe to heel. Oversized overshoes need a little stretch to allow me to fully cover the heel. Larger shoes in the same style as mine should probably be XL. The top of the ankle is narrow in my opinion and it would help to have more room for adjustment to accommodate different foot sizes and shapes without pinching. I used them on a cold foggy morning and they kept my feet dry and warm. Haven't tried them in heavy rain or snow yet.
