I understand this can be a little confusing for some people with no DIY experience. Nevertheless, he does his job well. I have a couple of wired security cameras, each with about 25 feet of unnecessary wiring for my particular setup. Whenever it rained heavily, one of the connectors on the three-way outdoor splitter would short out. I can put the extra cable plus all the electrical connections in the box. It's a lot neater and hopefully the box is waterproof enough to never have a short circuit problem again. The box is of high quality and will last a long time if used properly.
