I purchased this crimper to field swage the cable rail connections for my deck. It has been an utter disappointment and a ton of wasted time and money. It's extremely difficult to pump and there's no clear indication as to how much crimping force is being applied. I resorted to pumping the crimper 20 times, crimping the connection twice for each fitting, and the cables are still pulling out when tensioned. At this point I don't trust the current connections with my children and I'm afraid I just wasted 22 fittings, 100 ft of cable, and a day's worth of work.Just spend the money on a quality crimper. It'll cost you a lot less in the long run.
