My 2011 Chevy Avalanche already had a filter box but no removable cover. By purchasing this cover you will see exactly where to cut the plastic air duct in your car. The hardest part was cutting out the plastic. I used a drill, a dremel tool and a hacksaw blade that I cut in half and used by hand without a hacksaw frame. My truck had limited space to move around and accessing that area made things a bit more difficult for me (if you're young and flexible it might not be that difficult). I drilled a few holes in the four corners of the rectangular cutout that allow me to take half a hacksaw blade and make a rough cut. I had enough space to use my dremel to carve out the rest. Once I'm done cutting, the lid fits like a glove and works great. If you have allergies or breathing issues I highly recommend this.
